Privacy Policy
ReclaimKeys is a service provided by ReclaimKeys LLC (“ReclaimKeys,” “Company,” “we,” “us,” or “our”). This Privacy Policy describes how we collect, use, store, and protect information when you use our cryptocurrency wallet-recovery services (the “Services”) at reclaimkeys.com.
By engaging our Services, you agree to the collection and use of information in accordance with this Privacy Policy.
1. Information We Collect
To perform wallet recovery, we must collect certain information. We categorize the information we collect as follows:
A. Personal Data (Identification and Contact Information):
Name and email address.
Information you choose to provide to help us communicate with you and confirm you are authorized to request recovery services.
B. Wallet File Metadata (Non-Secret Wallet Information):
Metadata about wallet files you provide (for example: file type/format such as .dat or .json, filename, file size, timestamps, and other non-secret technical attributes needed to evaluate compatibility and run recovery attempts).
Public wallet addresses and other non-secret identifiers you provide to help us identify the wallet you want to recover.
C. Secret Data (Collected Only With Your Explicit Authorization) (“Sensitive Recovery Data”):
We collect and process the following secret data only after you have signed the Authorization Agreement and explicitly authorized us to do so for your specific recovery case:
Partial seed phrases and mnemonic fragments.
Wallet files (including encrypted wallet files) to the extent they contain or may allow reconstruction of secret credentials.
Password hints, partial passwords, or other secret clues you voluntarily provide for recovery purposes.
D. Technical Data (Website/Submission Data):
Limited technical information such as IP address and basic device/browser information that may be logged when you submit recovery materials or interact with our website (generally for security, troubleshooting, and abuse prevention).
2. How We Use Your Information
We use the collected information strictly for the following purposes:
Ownership Verification: to confirm that you are the lawful owner of the wallet and have the legal right to access its contents.
Recovery Attempts: to perform brute-force calculations, cryptographic analysis, and password recovery on our internal hardware.
Communication: to provide status updates and deliver recovered materials.
Compliance and Fraud Prevention: to meet legal obligations, screen against sanctions and restricted-party lists, prevent fraud, and ensure the Services are not used for unauthorized access to third-party assets.
3. Service Providers
We use a limited number of trusted service providers to operate the Services — for example, cloud hosting/infrastructure and transactional email delivery. These providers process data only as needed to provide their services to us and are bound by confidentiality and data-protection obligations. Sensitive Recovery Data is processed within systems we control and is never used for advertising or sold to anyone.
4. Data Security and Protection
Given the nature of the data involved (including secret recovery materials), we employ rigorous security measures designed to reduce risk:
Encryption at Rest: Sensitive Recovery Data and other sensitive information is encrypted at rest (including on backups, if any) using industry-standard encryption (e.g., AES-256 or equivalent).
Access Controls: access to sensitive materials is limited to personnel who need it for your recovery case and is protected by role-based access controls, strong authentication, and least-privilege practices.
Secure Transmission: when we send or receive sensitive files or secret data, we use one-time secure links (or comparable secure transfer methods) designed to limit access and reduce exposure.
Operational Security: we use security monitoring, logging, and internal procedures intended to prevent unauthorized access, disclosure, alteration, or misuse of Sensitive Recovery Data.
5. Data Retention and Deletion
Our policy is to minimize retention — especially of secret data:
Prompt Deletion After Job Completion: we delete Sensitive Recovery Data from our active recovery systems promptly after the recovery attempt concludes, and in any event no later than seven (7) days after closure of the engagement (whether successful recovery and delivery, or a final determination that recovery is not possible).
Deletion Upon Client Request: you may request deletion at any time. If you request deletion during an active recovery, we will delete the requested data and the recovery work may be delayed, limited, or terminated because we may no longer be able to proceed without it.
Administrative Records: we may retain limited non-secret business records (for example: your name, email, invoices, and signed agreements) for as long as reasonably necessary for legitimate business purposes and as required by applicable law (including tax, accounting, and legal compliance requirements).
6. Third-Party Disclosure
We do not sell your personal data or your Sensitive Recovery Data, and we do not share it for cross-context behavioral advertising. We do not share your data with third parties except with the service providers described in Section 3 or as required by law.
We may disclose information if we believe it is necessary to:
comply with applicable law, lawful requests, subpoenas, or court orders;
protect the rights, property, or safety of ReclaimKeys LLC, our customers, or others; or
investigate and help prevent fraud, security issues, or illegal activity.
7. No Guarantee of Security
While we implement rigorous security protocols, no method of transmission over the Internet or electronic storage is 100% secure. By providing your secret material, you acknowledge the inherent risks associated with handling cryptocurrency credentials and agree that ReclaimKeys LLC is not liable for unauthorized access resulting from factors outside our direct control.
8. Your Privacy Rights
Depending on where you live, you may have rights regarding your personal data under U.S. state privacy laws, subject to verification and legal exceptions. These may include the right to: (i) access the personal data we maintain about you; (ii) correct inaccuracies; (iii) delete personal data (with certain exceptions); (iv) obtain a copy of personal data you previously provided in a portable format; and (v) opt out of the sale of personal data, targeted advertising, or certain profiling.
Colorado residents have these rights under the Colorado Privacy Act (CPA), including the right to appeal a denied request.
California residents have rights under the California Consumer Privacy Act, as amended (CCPA/CPRA), including the right to know, delete, and correct personal information, and the right to opt out of “sale” or “sharing.” We do not sell or share personal information and do not use Sensitive Recovery Data for targeted advertising. California residents may use an authorized agent to submit requests.
Residents of other states (for example, Virginia, Connecticut, and other states with comprehensive privacy laws) may have similar rights.
To exercise these rights, contact us using the information in Section 12. We may need to verify your identity before fulfilling a request. If we deny your request, you may appeal by contacting us and stating that you are appealing a privacy-rights decision.
9. International Users
The Services are intended for and directed to users located in the United States. We do not target or market the Services to residents of the European Economic Area, the United Kingdom, or other jurisdictions with data-transfer restrictions. If you access the Services from outside the United States, you do so on your own initiative and are responsible for compliance with local law, and you understand your information will be processed in the United States.
10. Children’s Privacy
The Services are not directed to individuals under 18, and we do not knowingly collect personal data from anyone under 18. If you believe a minor has provided us personal data, contact us and we will delete it.
11. Changes to This Policy
We reserve the right to update this Privacy Policy at any time. We will notify you of any changes by posting the new Privacy Policy on this page and updating the “Last Updated” date.
